Contemporary Native American Indian Dolls & Prints by Carla Trujillo
I had posted earlier pics of some proto type Indian dolls I had been working on. Here is the finished product. She stands about 6.5″x2.5″ and is created out wood, feathers, leather, horse hair, clay, & various fabrics. She has a more contemporary feel because of the way she is created. The front bodice of her dress is hand painted with designs.
Little by little I have been working on some Native American Indian Dolls for a few galleries as well as some shows I have coming up in the early Fall. I would like to offer original prints this year for two of my shows, so I need to get cracking on those. When things get a little mundane making these dolls, I switch over to working with assemblages and mixed media art for a short time.
