It’s been a while since I last posted on this blog!! I have plans on posting more on a regular basis. I have been working on some new work and hopefully I will have it posted this coming week. The Indian Maiden and Child is a doll I created a few years back. She is made from wood, leather, horse hair, various fabrics, feathers, and beads. She measures about 10″ in height.

The Yei is regarded as a supernatural being by the Navajo, and they are believed to be the first to inhabit the earth. Before the Yei left earth, they left instructions with the people on how to live an easier life.

The male Yei is depicted in sandpaintings with a round head and the female Yei has an angular head.

This untitled piece was inspired by Tony Abeyta, who is this amazing Native American Mixed Media Artist. His new charcoal and ink wash drawings are beautiful.

I have been experimenting in creating different size Native American Indian dolls. This doll measures about 9.25″tall and 3.5″wide. She is created with various fabrics, wood, leather, feathers, beads, and horsehair.

This is a new collagraph print I’ve just recently created and printed. I need to print many more with varying colors. This was a quick print to give me some idea of how the image was going to look. The look of the plate and an actual print can vary quite a bit.

Assemblage – Totem

This assemblage piece was created about a year ago using harvested tree bark that was given to me by a fellow club member. Other items are old rusted hardware, found objects, beads, and wire.
